This is one of the A2 boards that me and my partner hayley mounted up to display the branding and advertising of our company. The concept or motif that runs throughout our branding of "warrenwelsh" (not a name we would use for our real company) is the idea of hole punches. Each piece we have created features a small hole punch that acts as a kind of view finder. If you place say the envelope or letter on your desk it will frame a small segment. The idea is to show that anything can have some form of beauty even the smallest part of it. t may be a colour, or a texture or a shape, the hole punch just brings that into focus. Our motto overall was that we can make something out of nothing and that we value absolutely everything. This later part of the motto was demonstrated by making a small bag to come as part of a promotional pack with our stuff and within the bag are all the little hole punches we cut out and kept. They contain parts of words and shapes and are beautiful in their own right. Some of the holes we cut out we laid acetate over the top with an instruction printed across it, such as "open me" or "stand 6 feet back" etc. This includes the client and leads to the overall desired effect of the piece.
This was another form of business card that we had come up with, the idea is that the client would get a net of a box and construct it to form a kind of descision dice, but will all our random philosophies on everyside. The trademark hole punch appears at the top of the cube and acts as a kind of peep hole looking into the contact details contained within.
